Acidic Skin = Healthy Skin (pH and Noon Lacto)

If you are over 20 years old, you should remember the commercial about the face wash with a pH of 5.5.

We know from chemistry lessons that pH is an indicator of the acidity/alkalinity of a substance on a scale from 0 to 14 , where 7 is neutral (less 7 is acidic, more 7 is alkaline).  So why is a pH of 5.5 loudly and strongly recommended for the skin, when a neutral value of pH 7 would seem to be the healthiest?

The very top layer of our skin, the horny layer of the epidermis, is surrounded by an acidic film, which is basically composed of sweat and sebaceous gland secretions and is called the so-called acid mantle . Its natural average pH is 4.7-5.7 and, being part of the hydrolipidic barrier of the skin, performs a protective barrier function against bacteria, viruses and other potential infections.

When we wash our skin with alkaline products (soap) or even just water, we change the skin's natural pH to alkaline, which means that it is less resistant to microorganisms and various viruses that are just waiting to be able to settle in a favorable environment for them.

Various studies show that acne, rosacea, psoriasis, etc. skin that survives skin disease has a higher, more alkaline pH and acidic treatments and remedies can help control symptoms or at least prolong remission.

What to do if we want to preserve skin health? It is important that you use a toner after every contact with water (when you wash/bath), they are designed to restore the skin's pH balance and the products you use afterwards are better accepted by the skin.

Use facial care products with acids , they will not only maintain a healthy pH of the skin, but also provide additional benefits: they will moisturize, brighten, have an antioxidant effect and promote skin renewal.

My long-term choice and sincere recommendation - NOON Aesthetics Lacto line creams. Lactic acid , as a substance, is naturally found in our body and participates in various biochemical processes, and is also a component of our skin's natural moisturizing factor (NDF (NMF eng.) - a set of humectants naturally present in the top layer of the skin that protect the skin and keep it hydrated and healthy ). Lactic acid is so fragrant because it stimulates keratinocytes to produce more ceramides , which depend on the quality of the hydrolipidic barrier of the skin and the amount of transepidermal water lost.

What to choose?

Lacto-10 is one of the most effective creams that accelerate skin rejuvenation, improve its texture, and improve skin tone and moisture levels. DermShield™ technology with a high concentration of 10% lactic acid (pH 3.5) allows the cream to be used on all skin types, in various seasons, without causing the skin irritation or drying usually associated with alpha hydroxy acids. Contains no oils, easily absorbed, suitable for all skin types. This cream is safe to use around the eyes and blends well with other cosmetic products or medicated ointments.

LactoCeramide-15 face cream is perfect for achieving an anti-aging effect, as it contains 15% lactic acid and types 2, 3 and 6 ceramides. The effective combination of AHA and DermShield™ technology allows the cream to be used on different skin types, in different seasons, without feeling skin irritation or dryness. Lactic acid (15%) stimulates and rejuvenates the skin, provides a marked improvement in skin texture, and restores moisture levels. It also reduces blemishes and increases skin density and elasticity. Ceramide types 2, 3 and 6 form a natural lipid layer on the surface of the skin. Helps correct defects in the horny (superficial) skin layer, reduces skin irregularities, helps form a healthy resistant skin barrier layer.

Intensive Hydrogel is a light balanced emulsion containing 10% lactic acid and 2% salicylic acid. This emulsion improves the condition of oily/combination skin and provides an intensive therapeutic effect without causing irritation thanks to DermShield™ technology. 100% natural and organic salicylic acid. for the first time in cosmetics! Intensive Hydrogel has powerful antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects, which are essential for cleansing and soothing oily skin. Salicylic acid causes exfoliation of stratum corneum cells, thus stimulating epidermal renewal. Goes well with other skin care products or medical ointments.

I don't want to spoil it, but after trying the Noon Lacto line, a frequent client gives up makeup because she is happy with the natural glow and health of her skin. Maybe it's not for nothing that they say "like swimming in milk"? :)

I wish you beautiful and healthy skin!
